True Stories - Restoring a Home

In the fall of 2009, the O’Driscoll family was featured in the Kitchen Views magazine in an article entitled Room to Grow. Then the unthinkable happened. Their home was destroyed by a major fire, but thankfully the family members were not injured physically.

Emotionally, a lot of healing was needed. Part of their healing process was restoring the family spirit by creating a completely new and different kitchen.

A fresh start with a timeless appeal called for a completely new color palette and layout. The room was expanded to include a dining room space, and nearby there is a new entertainment area with bar space. The family of five enjoys this expanded floor plan that gives them a fresh start and plenty of room for family time and entertaining friends.

The beautiful Cherry countertop on the smaller island in the new kitchen is the one piece of the old kitchen they were able to salvage. It was resized and now holds the prep sink in the center of the kitchen, adjacent to the stove.
