Private Residence | Major Renovation

The family purchased this home with the intention to make it their own with numerous updates, including renovating the kitchen, all the bathrooms, plus adding cabinets and other storage in various rooms to fit their family's needs.

The kitchen space was completely redesigned to open it to the adjacent space, creating an open concept living area for both family time and entertaining larger groups.

 

Built-in Desk

The new built-in desk adds a focal point to the seating area adjacent to the kitchen without looking like "kitchen cabinets". It uses the same Dynasty by Omega Renner door style and Battleship finish like the kitchen island to tie together the style of the large open concept space.

Cherry from National Millwork is used for the desktop. Glass in the upper cabinet doors provides display space, and there are deep file drawers in addition to smaller storage drawers. The bookcases on both ends of the desk emphasize it as a separate and unique space.

 

Entertainment Center in the Den

This room was originally used as the dining room, which was moved to another part of the house. This built-in cabinetry was custom designed to provide a mixture of closed storage, open shelves for books, family photos and decorations, plus glass-doored display cabinets, surrounding the large space for a flat screen television.

Wet Bar

The Wet Bar is located in the Media Room, ready to provide food and drink while watching the big game, or to serve refreshments through the French doors to the backyard pool.

The cabinetry was custom designed by Lisa Zompa with a custom inset door style, custom built by the craftsmen of National Millwork and finished with custom white paint. The countertop is Jet Mist Honed Granite.

From left to right, there is an under counter refrigerator, dishwasher, storage cabinet, and double refrigerated drawers. Upper cabinets provide both closed storage and glass-doored display area with beadboard detail.

Mud Room

The Mud Room was custom designed by Lisa Zompa and custom built by the craftsmen of National Millwork to meet the specific needs of this family. Finished with custom white paint, the space is bright and easy to clean.

The custom built bench and upper shelves with hooks below provide the perfect place to keep coats, jackets, backpacks, shoes, sports equipment and more. It's located at the secondary entrance to the home that is used most often by the family. This keeps everything where it can be easily found when rushing out the door, and as its name implies keeps mud, snow and wetness from outdoors confined to one easy to clean area.
